Soap FAQ List
Why Goat Milk Soap?
Goat milk is one of nature’s finest moisturizers! Goat Milk contains vitamin A, B vitamins including riboflavin, niacin, B6, B12, minerals, electrolytes, trace elements, enzymes, protein, and fatty acids. Goat milk also contains alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid which help remove dead skin cells from your skin's surface, leaving new cells on the surface of your skin that are smoother and younger looking as it moisturizes. Water-based soaps may use harsh chemical acids to accomplish this, most commercial companies remove the glycerin because its valued higher than soap and can be sold as such, our handmade bars have all the glycerin goodness inside!

Are all goat milk soaps the same?
NO! Some soap is made with water and very little goat milk or goat milk powders and they still call it goat milk soap! We use only whole goat milk we have milked from our small herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats! To protect the beneficial properties of the goat milk in our soap, the majority of our soap is made “Cold Process” so we never heat or scorched it. Unlike “Hot Process”, we wait 6 to 8 weeks before allowing our soaps to be ph. Tested, wrapped and “head out” for sale, it may take longer but you can’t beat the quality of the soap! Also, whether hot or cold processed, different oils will add different properties to soap.
Why is your soap so much better? What’s in your handmade Goat Milk Soap?
Our Soaps DO NOT contain CHEAP FILLER OILS like soybean, canola or hydrogenated vegetable oils.
Our ingredients speak for themselves!
All, yes EVERY BAR of Regular Goat milk soap is made with... Our own Nigerian Dwarfs herds Milk, ALOE, Vitamin E, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Tallow, Sunflower Oil/or grapeseed oil, Sustainable Palm, Castor Seed Oil, Beautiful Micas (if colored) Sea Salts & Scent them w/ only pure Essential Oils and/or Fantastic Fragrances!
Does your soap contain lye? The Lies about Lye!
True soap cannot be made without lye – Sodium hydroxide for hard soap and potassium hydroxide for liquid soaps. Soap is an alkali salt of a fatty acid; the salt is formed as a result of the chemical reaction between an alkali [lye] and an acid [fatty acids found in fats and oils]. When the lye solution and liquid are mixed with the fats and oils, the molecules of the alkali join with the molecules of the fatty acids and the result is soap. The chemical process is complete, and all lye is reacted out. This is referred to as saponified oils aka oils turned into soaping salts.
Do you use Tallow? It makes a huge difference!
Yes, we do! I personally hand render our Beef Tallow from the most nutrient-dense fat! Tallow is an amazing ingredient that our ancestors have used for thousands of years! Tallow soaps produce an extremely rich, moisturizing lather not common in vegetable oil-based soaps and typically last much longer too! If you are not yet using soap made with tallow, you are missing out!
Is your soap "Tearless"?
As in the case with all real soap, our soap is not “Tearless.” Care must be taken not to get in the eyes. Are the soaps safe for use on small children? Yes, Our unscented Soap is perfect for little ones and older children with sensitive skin. The Oatmeal Honey is also great for children. AGAIN, Our soaps are not tear-free however, so avoid getting the lather in your child’s eyes.
What's the size of your soap?
Prices reflect size of bars, embeds, special oils etc. Majority of soap is cut larger than 6.5to 7oz and cures 5 to 6+/-oz HOWEVER Each bar may vary a bit in color, size & design, to keep our artisan soaps one of a kind. Pricing is extremely fair for this wonderful soap that is not only pretty but fantastic for our skin!
How long does a bar of your soap typically last? How do I make it last longer?
Unused Soaps should last up to a year or more stored in a cool dry location, but we recommend using them within 6 months. As far as lasting in the shower or tub, everyone uses soap differently, in our home it typically lasts 3-4 weeks. Obviously if you can’t stop washing yourself with this wonderful soap, it may go a lot quicker! To help your soaps last longer in the shower, always use a drying soap dish or hang in a mesh poof after use! Quick dry out of soap is important, don’t leave them in a plastic covered soap dish too long, take them out after vacation!
