Rustic, Earthy, and Timeless

Pine Tar brings old‑school grit with warm earth, smoky depth, and a grounded, natural feel. Turmeric root and calendula petals add a gentle, comforting touch, creating a creamy goat milk bar that leaves your skin feeling clean, soft, and quietly balanced.

Why Pine Tar?

Pine tar has been used in traditional soapmaking for generations. It contributes to a deep, robust wash experience with its naturally smoky, earthy character. It also gives this bar its signature dark color and old‑fashioned charm.

While we cannot make medical or therapeutic claims, many customers enjoy researching the traditional uses of pine tar to understand why it remains such a beloved classic.

Why Turmeric & Calendula?

Turmeric adds a warm golden hue and a naturally earthy richness to the bar. Calendula petals offer a gentle, botanical touch that complements the rustic nature of pine tar beautifully.

We encourage you to research the long history of turmeric and calendula in traditional skincare — their heritage speaks for itself.

Why Do Customers Love Lil Swatara Pine Tar Goat Milk Soap?

Our Pine Tar Goat Milk Soap is loved for its creamy goat milk lather paired with the unmistakable, old‑world depth of real pine tar. Customers appreciate its rugged, earthy aroma and the grounded, traditional feel it brings to their daily routine.

This extra‑large 6oz bar lasts significantly longer than typical handmade soaps, offering a stable, rich lather and exceptional value. As it cures, it becomes even firmer and more durable, holding up beautifully in daily use.

How Is Each Bar Handcrafted from Start to Finish?

Every Pine Tar bar is designed, created, cut, stamped, packaged, and cared for by one pair of hands from start to finish. Most bars are hand‑stamped using our own custom soap stamps, designed and made here in our workshop.

Cold‑processed using traditional methods. Each bar is hand‑cut at 7oz and cures for at least 4–5 weeks, finishing around ~6oz for a lasting soap bar. As it ages, it continues to lose water, becoming even more durable and luxurious.

Handmade Variation: Natural variations in color, swirl, and stamping impressions are expected — especially with pine tar, turmeric, and calendula, which create beautiful rustic differences from batch to batch.

Elegantly presented in a beautiful muslin soap sack with custom label. Our muslin sacks are reusable, washable, and eco‑friendly.

Why Goat Milk?

Goat milk naturally contains vitamins A, D, B6, and B12, along with selenium and gentle milk sugars that contribute to a creamy, beautiful lather. Its natural milk fats create a velvety, cushiony wash that feels soft and comforting on the skin.

Fresh milk also contains lactic acid, a naturally occurring alpha‑hydroxy compound that helps create a smooth, luxurious feel in handcrafted soap.

We use fresh goat milk from our Nigerian Dwarf herd — never powdered — because it performs better, feels richer, and creates a more stable, creamy lather.

Why Do We Choose Each Ingredient So Carefully?

We choose each ingredient for its performance, consistency, and the luxurious feel it brings to the final bar. Our Pine Tar formulation is rooted in traditional soapmaking, focusing on quality and experience rather than trends or marketing buzzwords.

Formulating a bar like this isn't simple. It requires understanding SAP values, how different fatty acids behave, and how oils, butters, milk, pine tar, turmeric, and calendula interact at a structural level.

While we cannot make medical or therapeutic claims, many customers enjoy researching the traditional uses of pine tar to understand why it remains such a beloved classic.

What Is Our Pine Tar Goat Milk Soap Made With?

Fresh goat milk from our Nigerian Dwarf herd (never powdered), hand‑rendered tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, castor bean oil, sunflower oil, sustainable palm oil, sea salts, aloe, vitamin E, pine tar, turmeric, and calendula‑infused olive oil.

ABOUT COLORANTS: Pine tar naturally darkens the bar. Turmeric and calendula add warm, rustic tones. No synthetic dyes are used.

ABOUT SODA ASH: A fine, white powdery coating may appear on some bars. This is harmless and washes off easily.

How Do I Make My Soap Bar Last Longer?

Wet bar, lather, apply, and rinse thoroughly. Allow bar to dry fully between uses and keep it out of standing water for best longevity.

Store unused bars in a cool, dry place. Best used within 12 months for peak freshness.

Is This Soap Safe for Sensitive Skin?

Our Pine Tar Goat Milk Soap is crafted with gentle, nourishing ingredients — no harsh detergents, no sulfates, no synthetic preservatives. Many customers with sensitive skin enjoy the soft, creamy feel of our bars — but everyone's skin is unique, so we always recommend a simple patch test before full use.

For extra‑gentle options, try our Unscented Goat Milk Soap or our Colloidal Oats & Honey Bar.

Allergy Warning: Contains goat milk (dairy), pine tar, turmeric, and calendula. If you have a known sensitivity to botanicals or pine tar, perform a patch test before use.
